        Symposium on Standards for China’s Digital Villages Held

        The Center of International Cooperation Service of the MARA and the FAO co-organized the FAO 1000 Digital Villages Initiative: Symposium on Standards for China’s Digital Villages in early Dec. 2022.  

         

        Shi Jiaoqun, Special Advisor and Regional Programme Leader for South-South and Triangular Cooperation at the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, Carlos Watson, FAO Representative to China, and Aziz Elbehri, FAO Senior Economist, attended the symposium either in person or via video conference. 

         

        At the symposium, the selection procedure for typical cases of China’s digital villages was released in the light of the FAO 1000 Digital Villages Initiative. Participants also shared insights to the status quo of China’s digital villages, and experience on and achievements in leveraging the role of digital technology in increasing agricultural productivity, e-commerce, and rural governance.   

         

        Participants also include those experts from the Information Center of MARA, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China Agricultural University, and Alibaba.
