CHENGDU, Dec. 22 -- Over 80,000 products from 17,000 exhibitors are being showcased at the 19th China International Agricultural Trade Fair, which opened Thursday in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province.
Over 20,000 professional purchasers from across the country are participating in the four-day event, which covers an exhibition area of nearly 150,000 square meters.
Besides the exhibition areas for large enterprises, specialized exhibition areas have also been set up for grain, oil, aquatic products, fruits and vegetables.
According to the organizing committee, this year's fair features e-commerce live broadcasts, on-site experiences and other ways of boosting the development of the agricultural industry.
Prior to the opening of the fair, the intended purchases of large key procurement enterprises amounted to 11.5 billion yuan (about 1.65 billion U.S. dollars), the organizers said.
